Global Lean Summit 2008: Lean Transformation

Lean thinking is a business system connecting business processes from end to end. Therefore, lean transformation
at a company emphasizes lean implementation through a system approach involving multiple functional groups
including marketing, product development, manufacturing, supply chain & logistic, and management infrastructure
etc. We are pleased to present you a group of well-known lean experts from many global operations at the summit
to share with you their lean experience.
The highlights include:
Lean Product Development: Dr. James Morgan, co-author of “Toyota Product and Process Development
System” will introduce lean product development process. A couple of PD applications will be presented by PSA
Peugeot Citron and a die mold manufacturer.
Lean Manufacturing: Speakers from Boeing, Lenovo, and DuPont will share their lean journey.
Lean Management and Lean Service: Dr. Jack Billi, Associate Dean from University Michigan Health System
will share his view how to apply lean to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Dr. Xiaozhi Liu
will speak “lean” from a top management’s perspective. Lean expert from Boeing Shanghai MRO will introduce lean
practices in aircraft MRO.
